Congressional Hearing

Hoi allemaal,
De laatste maanden hebben we veel geleerd over the "Constitution", vandaag gingen we deelnemen aan een "Congressional Hearing" in the "Ronald Reagan Presidential Library for the Simulated Congressional Hearing".
We moesten allemaal een toespraak doen over "We The People".

  • "The Framer's" had many Conflicts. One important conflict was the people didn't want a strong government because a strong government would be the same as "King George the III". If "The Framer's" made a strong government then the people will not participate in the government but if "The Framer's" made a weak government then the government will not be able to solve problems. Another important conflict was between the big states, and the small states. The big states had more people living in the big states than in the small states. So, they were saying that the people in Congress should be based on the state's population. The small states wanted only 2 people in congress per state. It does not matter what the population is. The only way to solve this problem was "The Great Compromise". This compromise said that there will be two parts in congress. The Senate has two Senators from each state. This part obeyed the small states. The other part is the "House of Representatives" based on the state's population. "Framer's" had many other conflicts, but these were the most important conflicts.
