Het experiment dat "Earth: A sponge for Pollution" heet.

Pollution has increased exponentially over the past few years. It has affected the Earth and the way we live today. Initial research in this matter has focused on the medical effects of contamination on animals, plants, and humans. The research that I preformed focuses more on how much pollution is absorbed in soil in a one minute period.

Before I began my experiment I hypothesized that off three harmful products, oil, gasoline, and evapo-rust, oil was going to be most absorbed in one-hundred ml course sand within the one minute period. To determine this educated guess I accurately measured one-hundred ml of each type of pollutant and let them soak through the sand for one minute. After the time was over I removed the filters from the cup and used math to figure out how much of the pollutant had been absorbed. I repeated this procedure a number of times and later found the average amount of pollution that had been absorbed.

I was able to verify that my hypothesis had been accurate with the results from my research and experiment. I found that the oil was most absorbed by the sand, though, during the one minute period, much of the oil was left on top while the gasoline and evapo-rust ran through the sand as if it was water. These results truthfully acknowledge that the oil, the thickest of the three pollutants was most immersed by the sand and obtains the most amount of time to be absorbed.
